If you had asked me twenty years ago if I'd be teaching horsemanship, I probably would have laughed.

Like a lot of people, life took me in a different direction. I built a career, started businesses, raised a family with my amazing wife, and stayed busy chasing the next chapter. But there was always something in the back of my mind.

Horses.

As a kid, I dreamed about having them someday. That dream sat quietly for years until my family moved to the country and we bought our first horse. I thought I was buying a horse. Looking back, I was really beginning a journey.

I quickly discovered something that changed my perspective forever.

Loving horses isn't the same as understanding them.

I was inexperienced. I was nervous. I made plenty of mistakes. I'd watch experienced riders accomplish things that seemed impossible for me, and instead of blaming the horse, I eventually realized I needed to become a better horseman.

That realization changed everything.

I began learning from great mentors, studying every opportunity I could find, and spending countless hours with my own horses. Every success taught me something. Every mistake taught me even more.

Today, I still believe I'm a student of the horse.

One horse in particular, Cinco, has reminded me that trust isn't demanded—it's earned. She's taught me that the best partnerships are built through patience, consistency, and clear communication, not force.

Those lessons became the foundation of Silvertip Acres.

This isn't about creating perfect riders or perfect horses.

It's about helping everyday people build confidence, understand their horse, and enjoy the journey—whether you're climbing into the saddle for the first time or you've owned horses for years.

I know what it's like to feel uncertain.

I know what it's like to wonder if you're doing the right thing.

And I know how rewarding it is when things finally begin to click.
